Mountain ranges in Denali National Park and Preserve vary in size from the lower elevation mountains pictured in the right to center of this photo to high mountain ranges viewed on the left center of the photo. The high mountains in this image are part of the mountain range containing Denali (formerly Mt. McKinley). Mt. Foraker, the mountain shown and has an elevation of 17,400 feet and is second in height with the first being Denali.

Mount Foraker is a 17,400-foot mountain in the central Alaska Range, in Denali National Park, 14 mi southwest of Denali. It is the second highest peak in the Alaska Range, and the third highest peak in the United States. It rises almost directly above the standard base camp for Denali, on a fork of the Kahiltna Glacier also near Mount Hunter in the Alaska Range.
