This photograph is one of the panels of windows of the Cincinnati Union Terminal. The terminal was a significant development in the history of Cincinnati transportation. One of the last great train stations built, Union Terminal has become one of the iconic symbols of the city and one of the most widely regarded examples of the Art Deco style. Since its opening in 1933, Union Terminal has had a long and storied history, from the exciting times of World War ll to being the home of three museums.
This building has special significance because I remember talking with the soldiers coming home from WW11 while a young girl waiting with my mother for the train.
A picture is a poem without words....Horace. My photos and digital paintings are picture words intended to invoke delight, thought, memories or wonder in the minds of the viewer. Some are meant to inform or instruct, but all are offered for the enjoyment of those whose eyes will explore them.
