Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

A lovely single bloom of a wild rose. It's petals are almost opaque and appear so delicate that a touch would surely bruise them. The rose-hip shown in the image is a nice addition to this photo. This image was taken from a hedge row near the Portland Head Lighthouse in Maine.
In addition to the wild medieval tales of love and magic, the rose has many myths around it that are still alive today.
