Description
A view of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains in black and white. It is late summer so much of the snow normally on these mountain tops is gone. A few weeks later they were covered by what the Alaskans call "termination dust" which is the first snowfalls of the season.
Kachemak Bay is a 40-mi-long arm of Cook Inlet in the U.S. state of Alaska, located on the southwest side of the Kenai Peninsula. The communities of Homer, Halibut Cove, Seldovia, Nanwalek, Port Graham, and Kachemak City are on the bay as well as three Old Believer settlements in the Fox River area, Voznesenka, Kachemak Selo, and Razdolna.
