Description
The entire mural located on the side of a commercial building in Bellevue, Kentucky is a composite reproduction of several pieces of art that reside in the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati, Ohio.
This mural brings together many masterpieces from the Taft Museum of Art’s collection including Rembrandt Van Rijn’s Portrait of a Man Rising from his Chair, A World of Their Own by Lawrence Alma Tadema, Mrs. John Weyland and her Son John by Joshua Reynolds, The Song of Talking Wire by Henry F. Farny, and Edward and William Tomkinson by Thomas Gainsborough. The figures from the works find themselves enjoying the day on the lawn at the Taft. This mural was created as a part of the Taft’s 80th Anniversary Celebration, “Art for All.”
