Description
It is not unusual to see residences and other dwellings carved into the limestone deposits and currently in use in Cappadocia, Turkey. An example is the Alfina Cave Hotel where I stayed during my visit to this interesting part of our world. As you can see in the photo the exterior of the hotel is constructed of similar material as the sandstone but the actual hotel is carved into the hillside. It has 41 rooms and is three levels high. The interior rooms are spectacular!
