Description
A fascinating wildflower is "Bitter Buttons", also known as tansy, cow bitter, or golden buttons. I like the name golden buttons the best, but it is not prevalent. They are frequently discovered while hiking or exploring fields, meadows and hedgerows and are often disregarded because they do not have the delicate petals of most flowers. They are rarely overlooked though because of their brilliant outstanding color.
Bitter button or tansy are perennial, herbaceous flowering plants of the aster family, native to temperate Europe and Asia. It has been introduced to other parts of the world including North America, and in some areas has become invasive. It is common to most states in the US.
