Description
A view of Kachemak Bay towards the east or head of the bay. It is late summer so much of the snow normally on these mountain tops is gone. A few weeks later they were covered by what the Alaskans call "termination dust" which is the first snowfalls of the season. The bay is relatively calm which is why ships and barges often seek shelter here here while the sea is stormy or unsafe. The clouds on this cloudy day emphasize the beauty of the Kenai Mountains.
